ERA REAL ESTATE TO HOLD SECOND ANNUAL 'INTERNATIONAL OPEN OFFICE' CELEBRATION
Global network members to give back to community, October 6-7 PARSIPPANY, NJ (September 26, 2001) – Demonstrating an ongoing commitment to take an active role in their communities, ERA® Real Estate offices throughout the world will participate in the second annual ERA International Open Office, October 6 and 7. "ERA International Open Office" invites all 2,500 offices in the global franchise network in 26 countries to organize events designed to thank the local community for its past and ongoing support. The event also serves to remind clients of ERA's position as leading global real estate brand. In addition to fostering community spirit through fun-filled events, ERA offices often host fundraisers for local or national charities throughout the weekend. This year, offices are encouraged raise money to help those affected by the tragic events of September 11, 2001. "The ERA International Open Office unites our global family with its towns and neighborhoods here in the U.S. and around the world," said Peter Burgdorff, president and CEO, ERA Franchise Systems LLC. "This weekend of community spirit allows ERA offices in Europe, Africa, Asia and the U.S. to open their doors to welcome and say 'thank you' to their communities." Launched in 2000, ERA International Open Office allows offices to customize events to meet the needs and cultural understanding of their respective communities. Inspired by the success of ERA "Open Huis," begun by ERA brokerages in the Netherlands in 1995, this international goodwill event features special events and fundraisers, including historic home tours, fall festivals and interior design seminars. During last year's inaugural International Open Office celebration, ERA offices put their own global spin on the program. Children's safety was the theme for ERA South Africa's community celebration. There, families came from miles away to take part in the fun, which included face painting and a safety speech given by a familiar South African super hero. In the U.S., an ERA office in Texas hosted a "Kids Funfest," featuring a "Draw Your Dream Home" contest and a bike rodeo. While child-centered events were a popular theme, many ERA offices supported their communities through pet parades, dinner dances and baking contests. ERA Franchise Systems LLC, a subsidiary of Cendant Corporation (NYSE:CD), is a global leader in the residential real estate industry with nearly 30 years experience in developing consumer-oriented products and services.
