ERA BROKERS FOCUS ON IDEA-SHARING & NETWORKING DURING ANNUAL CONFERENCE
Two-day event focuses on technology, business growth and recruiting PARSIPPANY, NJ, May 28, 2002 - Leading ERA® brokers from around the country recently gathered at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas for the annual President's Circle Conference to share best practices and exchange tips on profit and growth. "Our brokers made this yet another successful event," said Brenda W. Casserly, president and COO, ERA Franchise Systems LLC. "This year's format provided more opportunities for brokers to learn from one another while discussing trends in their respective marketplaces and the industry." Idea-sharing sessions focused on technology, recruiting and retention, marketing and mergers and acquisitions. "Learning from other brokers is very beneficial," said J.T. Purvis, president of ERA National Realty of Arizona in Prescott. "It saves us time and money because we don't have to reinvent the wheel. Through idea-sharing sessions, we learn what worked, and most importantly, what didn't for our peers." Several guest speakers and Professional Development Sessions complemented the exchange of ideas. Bob Moles, president and CEO, Real Estate Franchise Group of Cendant Corporation (ERA is a subsidiary of Cendant), answered corporate and industry-related questions from brokers in an open Town Hall format. To help brokers sharpen their management skills, Dale Dauten, author of the Gifted Boss, spoke about employee relations. Through Dauten's Tales of Talented Courtship, he discussed the ways great bosses and employees connect. He also revealed how the best bosses create a "magnetic workplace," which he describes as "the best place for the best people to work." The Professional Development Sessions included several educational forums geared toward company growth and recruiting sales associates. Lou Izzo, vice president and general manager of Hunt Real Estate ERA (Buffalo, NY), drew upon his 15 years of experience to offer tips about recruitment and retention in today's marketplace. While Las Vegas provided an entertaining backdrop for this year's President Circle, attendees had several opportunities to network with their peers during a golf tournament and reception at Caesars' Magical Empire. The Top 50 brokers were also invited to a special dinner at the villa that was once home to Liberace. The next ERA event is the annual "Beyond Excellence" conference, which will be held at the Fairmont Southampton Princess Hotel in Bermuda, July 28-31. Leading ERA sales associates will be recognized for their performance, learn about new trends in the real estate industry and network with other affiliates.
