ERA® sales associates contribute nearly $5,000 to help those in need PARSIPPANY, NJ, August 8, 2002 - ERA sales associates attending the "Beyond Excellence" conference in Bermuda last week helped raise nearly $5,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association during a silent auction. Beyond Excellence is an annual educational forum that recognizes top-producing ERA affiliates for their performance. During the four-day event, attendees learn about new trends in the real estate industry, network with peers and participate in events such as the MDA silent auction. Throughout the conference, sales associates had the opportunity to bid on a variety of travel and leisure products donated by the Select Services division of ERA Real Estate and its sister brands of Cendant Corporation (ERA Real Estate is a subsidiary of Cendant). Auction items included:
Auction organizer Angela McNiece, director of integrated marketing, ERA Real Estate, said, "Proceeds from the silent auction will be part of the donation that the ERA network will present to MDA at the annual Labor Day Telethon." ERA Real Estate has participated in the telethon since it became the real estate industry's exclusive corporate sponsor of MDA in 1977. Since then, ERA brokers, sales associates and corporate staff have raised more than $30 million to fund medical research and provide services to help those affected by muscular dystrophy. ERA network brokerages nationwide sponsor various fundraising events throughout the year, including golf tournaments, walk-a-thons, black-tie galas and silent auctions.
