Gives ERA members access to interactive web-based meetings
Parsippany, NJ (January 9, 2000) – ERA Real Estate announced today that it has signed an agreement with WebEx Communications Inc. to implement its state-of-the-art Web-based meeting software. The software will enable ERA® member brokers and sales associates to participate in meetings and training sessions with integrated audio, voice and video all from the Internet. ERA members will access these interactive meetings through a customized web site.
Jerry Smith, vice president of Educational Development for ERA Franchise Systems LLC, pointed out that this relationship will allow ERA members to participate in live educational training sessions in the comfort of their home or office. "We already have a course scheduled to use this advanced technology starting this month, and I'm sure that given the convenience it offers our membership, many more courses will soon follow. In fact, this technology may be considered for many other applications like regional broker meetings, software training, new product demonstrations and even staff meetings."
ERA Real Estate has a long history of trail-blazing in terms of tech-based continuing education. Almost two years ago, ERA Real Estate was among the pioneers providing Internet-based training to its members through the ERA Online Learning Center. Today, ERA members can watch over 60 training segments with streaming video and text support, participate in discussions and receive additional help if needed. Last March, ERA Real Estate launched a series of complete real estate courses taught via the Internet. Dubbed ERA e-Campus, the curriculum has grown to over a dozen full courses. The e-Campus site will be expanding still further to provide the ERA membership with many additional courses to give agents the tools they need to best meet the needs of sellers and buyers alike. Smith said within the next couple of months, ERA Real Estate will begin offering some of the continuing education courses agents need to renew their real estate licenses in select states.
