ERA® REAL ESTATE COMPANIES RAISE $1.8 MILLION FOR "JERRY'S KIDS"
Leading Real Estate Franchisor Marks 21-Year Commitment to Muscular Dystrophy Association

Parsippany, NJ (August 31, 1998) – For the 21st consecutive year, ERA® Real Estate representatives will appear on the 1998 Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon to present contributions raised by ERA members to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. A national corporate sponsor of MDA, ERA Franchise Systems LLC will present checks totaling $1.8 million to host Jerry Lewis during the September 6-7 telethon broadcast. The donation represents funds collectively raised by ERA member brokerage offices nationwide.

In 1977, ERA joined MDA in its fight against neuromuscular disease. Since then, ERA members have raised more than $26 million to fund research and provide services to help the more than a million Americans affected by muscular dystrophy. The sole corporate sponsor of MDA from the real estate industry, ERA has consistently been among the top corporate contributors to the organization each year.

"We are proud of the relationship we've built with MDA over the past 21 years," said Jerry Smith, ERA Vice President of Training and Development, and MDA National Vice President. "Our relationship goes beyond raising money for the organization. It's about helping children and adults who need a little extra time, energy and support. For over two decades, ERA has been dedicated to this worthy cause, and we will continue our ongoing commitment to helping Jerry's Kids."

Charlie and Connie King of ERA Jo-Par Realty in Fayetteville, GA, will appear on this year's telethon to present the ERA annual contribution. ERA Jo-Par Realty raised more than $67,000 in 1997 and is the recipient of the 1997 Ed Bilinkas Memorial Award, the honor given to the ERA company that raises the most money for MDA. The Kings will be joined on the telethon by ERA Vice President Jerry Smith.

ERA member brokers hold various fundraising events throughout the year, including golf tournaments, walk-a-thons, and auctions to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
