ERA® REAL ESTATE WIDENS COMMITMENT TO TECHNOLOGY BY GOING DIGITAL
Company to Provide Polaroid PhotoPad Scanner to ERA Offices Nationwide Parsippany, NJ (February 3, 1998) – ERA Franchise Systems LLC, the world's fourth largest residential real estate network, is putting digital technology into the hands of its brokers and agents by placing a Polaroid PhotoPad scanner in eligible ERA offices. The new initiative provides domestic ERA offices with Internet access the ability to scan photos of their property listings for placement on the ERA Internet site, www.era.com. With a scanner in every eligible office, processing time for posting photos on the site will be reduced by 4-8 days. "Technology is increasingly playing a role in the way the real estate process is changing. That means things are done faster and easier for consumers," said Peter Burgdorff, President and CEO of ERA. "The convenience of having a scanner in the office will speed the process of placing photos on the Internet, thereby increasing our commitment of service to home buyers and sellers." Polaroid PhotoPad scanners were sent to all qualified ERA offices in January. The PhotoPad scanner has the ability to scan in color or black and white, brighten pictures, cut or remove images, crop the area and modify the photo. Once completed the images can be dropped into publications, flyers or brochures, the Internet, ERA Real Estate's Preferred Advantage software, and many other communication materials. ERA Franchise Systems LLC, a subsidiary of Cendant Corporation (NYSE: CD), is a leader in the residential real estate industry with over 25 years experience in developing consumer-oriented products and services. The ERA Real Estate network includes more than 2,600 independently owned and operated brokerage offices with more than 27,000 brokers and sales associates throughout the United States and 16 other countries. ERA is available to consumers on the Internet at www.ERA.com.
