Parsippany, NJ (May 19, 1999) – In response to the devastation left behind by the storms that ravaged southern Oklahoma City, there has been an outpouring of goodwill to the residents of the area. ERA Real Estate worked with partners Airborne Express and North American Van Lines to provide clothing to those in need.
"I would like to thank Airborne Express and North American Van Lines for working with us to help the residents of Oklahoma City in this very trying time," said Peter Burgdorff, ERA Real Estate President and CEO. "Our thoughts and our prayers are with the entire community. It is hard to say that we can understand how the residents might feel, but we want them to know that we are there for them."
Courtesy of Airborne Express and North American Van Lines, 15 boxes of clothing were sent to the local ERA company, ERA First Place. Broker Sharon Young then distributed the much needed items.
"We felt that providing clothes would make the most impact," Young said. "I am the type of person that believes some good will come out of this, and the people will rebuild – we have a tremendous spirit in Oklahoma.
"Real estate is about homes, and to look at how this tornado leveled to many of the homes in this community, it certainly touches us," Young continued. "That is why we, who are in the business of helping people find a home, are literally going to help people find a home. We are asking anyone who may be able to rent out a home or a room, to contact us and we'll hook them up with someone who needs them, absolutely free of charge."
