VÍTEJTE! Welcome to the Czech Republic!
From the pulsing capital of Prague to the back-in-time villages of Moravia, from toiling up mountains to lounging in spas, the world-famous Pilsner beer, or simply a listen to the sounds of Smetana and Dvorák, there's an experience in the Czech Republic to suit every taste.

Although the Czech Republic, with just more than 10 million inhabitants, ranks among small countries, its wealth of natural beauty and monuments of cultural heritage contribute greatly to its global prestige as a major tourist destination. Centrally located in the heart of Europe, the Czech lands have been, and still remain the crossroads of many cultures.

There are charming little towns full of historical treasures, numerous old castles, peaceful mountains, forests, lakes, villages, and traditions. And one must not forget mentioning the Czech cuisine. Everybody will most likely find at least a few meals "to die for". It may be the potato soup, the traditional roast pork with dumplings and sauerkraut, the fruit filled dumplings, or the apple strudel.

Real Estate in the Czech Republic
Since 1989, the Czech Republic has experienced unprecedented change in nearly every area of its economy, and the real estate market is certainly no exception. The modern real estate market is not only very young, but it has had very little to build on, considering that in the pre-Revolutionary period there were few, if any, opportunities for private property ownership. The entire history of the Czech Republic is amazingly void of any extended periods of time where private citizens could be in business for themselves.

Despite this, the Czech real estate market has made tremendous progress in terms of property rights, availability of financing, and market stability. While the period of 1989-1999 was market by large fluctuations in property values (mostly increasing), the period since 2000 has witnessed growing stability and liquidity.

About ERA in the Czech Republic
The Czech real estate industry is impaired by the non-existence of laws regulating who can act in the profession. One of the goals of ERA Czech Republic is to raise the level of professionalism in the industry. It is developing training solutions that the profession currently lacks, and is introducing marketing innovations that will change the way Czechs buy and sell property and how brokers will go about obtaining and retaining property listings. The ERA network will also give birth to a powerful referral system that will introduce a level of cooperation among brokers that does not exist today, and at the same time provide a new level of service to their clients.

ERA Czech Republic is happy to announce that it has opened its company headquarters in Prague in March 2006 and has been initiating efforts to develop its network.
